The story behind this image

Tucked away right at the southeastern tip of the beautiful Isle of Anglesey on the North Wales coast, Penmon Point is one of the most lovely and photogenic places on the island.

And that's saying something, as Anglesey has a plethora of beauty spots to visit and photograph, but Penmon is one of my favourites.

So many sensory delights come together in one place, with sights, sounds and smells all combining to lift the emotions.

Unfortunately I can only convey one of those senses, sight, in a photograph, and that pretty poorly, converting an unlimited 3D mobile viewing experience into a 2D static rectangle.

But even so, I'ver tried to capture some of the 'feel' of Penmon in this image, with a clean uncluttered composition comprising the lighthouse, Puffin Island and a sweep of shingle beach under a pale blue sky.

If you look closely you can see a couple of small figures walking on the pebbles, to give a sense of scale and a 'wish you were here' message that I hope you heed enough to visit this fantastic place for yourself!
