Wandering round the back streets of Montmartre in Paris, I came across this typical Parisian scene of cobblestoned street, narrow pavements and classical architecture.
Nice enough, but when I saw this guy wearing a beret of all things strolling towards me down the middle of the street I just had to take the photo.
It was a relatively unplanned snapshot, which rarely work well for me as I'm more of a take your time and use a tripod type of guy, but in this case everything came together just great, and this image was the result.
Of course I converted it to monochrome later on, as being much more evocative of the mood of this great city in the quiet of the morning.
