When I saw these two city gents, taking their lunch break sitting on the steps of the Grande Arche de la Defense, I couldn't resist taking this photo of them looking down the Avenue Charles de Gaulle towards the Arc de Triomphe in the far distance.
I rarely do street photography, but on this occasion the elements in the scene came together so well, with the interplay of positive and negative space between the diners matching that between the office blocks in the middle distance.
I converted the image to black and white to remove distracting colour and to emphasise the dark and light elements in the composition. However, I couldn't resist leaving just a hint of colour in the scene as a tease.
