Dusk gives way to night on the banks of the river Seine at the Normandy town of Les Andelys.
High above the town, perched on its rocky outcrop, the medieval Chateau Gaillard (Saucy castle) glows against the darkening sky, bathed in warm light against the cold blue of the heavens.
There's not a breath of wind as the Seine rolls by at my feet, allowing the chateau and bridge to cast an almost perfect reflection in the still waters.
Definately one of the most lovely views Liz and I ejoyed during our short stay in this beautiful and historic part of France.
