One of the few TV programs I really enjoy is Weatherman Walking, on the BBC, in which meteorologist Derek Brockway explores various walks and rambles around the beauty spots of Wales.
One of his walks took in a favourite area of mine, the Nant Ffrancon valley in the Snowdonia National Park.
Inspired after watching the program, a lovely summer's day was all the incentive my wife Liz and I needed to re-visit the Nant Ffrancon valley and check out its beauty from both ends.
This photo was taken the head of the valley, just below Llyn Ogwen and the magnificent peaks of Tryfan, Pen Yr Olwen and Y Garn.
A patch of late heather provides a vibrant patch of colour against the greens and greys of the surrounding landscape.
