There's a spot in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, where so many visual wonders come together that it's hard to know which way to turn next.
From this spot, Pont Pen-y-Benglog at the tip of Llyn Ogwen you can take a 360ยบ view and see waterfalls, mountains, woodlands, an ancient bridge and the dramatic Nant Ffrancon valley, pictured here under typical Snowdonia lighting.
I was actually here to shoot stills (of which this is one) for a time lapse video I wanted to make, showing patches of light and shadow moving along the sides of the valley, but guess what happened just after I'd started shooting.
That's right, the weather stopped being interesting and turned flat grey and drizzly instead, after I'd only shot enough exposures for just a couple of seconds of video.
Never mind though. It was still an inspiring place to be, and at least I got this lovely image of the valley when the light was at its best.
And, I've got a ready made excuse to go back and try again.
