This view is the reward for a relatively gentle climb up from the Llyn Ogwen visitors' centre to the shores of Llyn Idwal, nestled at the base of the Devil's Kitchen in Snowdonia National Park.
It's a rare day when the sun shines in this part of the world, so my wife Liz and I made the most of it, with a hike, a picnic and, of course, a photo session by the lake shore.
As ever, my gaze turned towards Tryfan on the far side of the lake, and with the old dry stone wall pointing the way to the peak, I took a series of photos, varying the composition slightly unitl I found the best possible arrangement.
I waited a while for the ruffled surface of the water to become calm and give me a reflection, but on this occasion it was not to be.
Never mind though, as that gives me a good excuse to come back and carry on where I left off, and immersing myself in such beautiful surroundings is hardle a chore, now is it?
