This stark image of the summit of Snowdon was inspired by Galen Rowell's photo called 'Split rock and cloud' which you can see here.
My wife Liz and I had been exploring the Miner's path up Snowdon and we were on our way back to the car park when I turned around and saw this composition.
I find it sometimes pays to stay in a location after the sun has set, and to look back as well as forward from time to time!
