This image is just one frame taken from a series that I shot with the plan of producing a stitched panorama of the view acrcoss Smerwick harbour and the Brandon mountains on Ireland's Dingle Peninsula.
But, after stitching the frames together I wasn't happy with the composition of the scene. The placement of the clouds just didn't suit the panoramic format so in the end I ditched that idea.
However, the light of the rising sun striking the underside of the largest cloud mass was absolutely stunning, and this one frame from the panorama captured the event in all its glory.
I'm glad now that I didn't delete the original files at the same time as I deleted the aborted stitched panorama!
