Art and creativity in general aren't just the province of starving souls living in attics in Paris.
Being made in the image of God, there's an innate creativity in all of us, and that nature shows itself in an infinite number of ways.
Take this motorbike engine for example. The designers didn't need to make it look beautiful, they didn't need to colour the rockers and crankshaft covers, but they did. The technicians who assembled it didn't need to take such care over the fit of the parts, so that all the flanges line up, but they did. And the owner of the motorbike didn't need to keep it clean, it would work just as well dirty, but he did.
So even in something as functional as a motorbike engine, that innate desire to create beauty that's in all of us just can't be supressed.
Of course, as a photographer (and as a Christian) I want to impart as much creativity and beauty into what I do as possible, so yes, this image has been enhanced, but only in a way as to emphasise the beauty that was already there.
So what you see here is a product of the creativity of all the people involved in the design, production, maintenance and photography of this engine. All responding to that inner voice saying - 'go on, create something beautiful'.
