5am on a crisp, clear autumn morning in early September and I'm at one of my favourite morning spots on the slopes of the my local hill, Moel Famau.
Away to the east the sky is just starting to pick up the first light of the approaching sun, tinged with a faint hint of azure while overhead the inky blue of the night sky still shows a myriad stars in their waltz around the heavens.
Suspended between the two, like two precious jewels set on a velvet cloth, the waning crescent moon and the planet Venus pass each other by in the final steps of a celestial dance that fades with the coming of the day even as I watch.
A single, simple photograph is all that remains to me to remind me of that morning when God's wisdom, expressed in beauty, was displayed for all to see.
I'm glad I got up early that morning.
