Liz and I are standing on the seafront on the Llandudno's West Shore, watching as the day fades to dusk over the Conwy estuary.
The sun set half an hour ago beneath an unusually clear horizon, and the sky to the west has taken on that wonderfully evocative shade of twilight as the light slowly changes from orange to the deep blue of night.
It seems that all the world is holding its breath as a new moon chases the sun down over the headland at Penmaenmawr, while the distant lights of the A55 coast road glow like a string of diamonds against the darkening hills.
I'm sorry, but there's no way even the most emotive of photos can express what it's like to be here on such an evening as this.
