Sitting on the steps of the Jubilee Tower on the top of Moel Famau on a freezing cold winter's dawn isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I'm loving it here this particular morning.
With the forecast predicing mist and clear skies I was anticipating some great photo opportuinites, hence the need for altitude and why I found myself on top of a mountain.
Well I wasn't disappointed, with fog filling the valleys below me and leaving the higher ground clear the effect was just sublime, and when the sun rose, lighting the fog and landscape, it was time to photograph.
This view, with a farm in the foreground, is looking to the north from the summit of Moel Famau, but there were lovely views in all directions.
Well worth getting cold and tired for!
