A beautiful late winter's day and the golden afternoon light is bathing the Menai Straits in a warm glow, while the snow capped peaks of Snowdonia form an impressive backdrop to this iconic North Wales scene.
The section of the Menai Straits shown here in this panoramic collage are known as the Swellies, with a fearsome tidal rip and underwater rocks that make this stretch of water one of the most hazardous navigable passages in the world. (According to Lord Nelson that is - and he should know what he's talking about!)
But from the viewpoint on the road above all is calm and peaceful as I take the multiple exposures needed to construct this panorama, taking in the view from Thomas Telford's striking suspension bridge all the way round to the mid Straits island and fish trap, complete with dwelling.
