Liz and I didn't quite know what to expect when we decided to pay a visit to Santanyi, on the south eastern corner of Mallorca, during our recent stay on the island.
On the one hand, we knew it to be quite a popular tourist spot, so we thought it might be over developed and a bit crass, but on the other hand we'd seen some quite nice photos on the internet.
So we were very pleasantly suprised when we arrived to find a nice blend of sympathetic new development and old style Mallorcan seaside village.
In the end, our planned couple of hours turned into an afternoon and evening, spent wandering around the shoreline, cliff walks and back streets of this still charming spot.
This view shows a typical mix of the old and new, blended together with those lovely warm Mediterranean colours.
