Dramatic evening light at Port de Soller on the west coast of Mallorca as a rare bank of cloud sweeps in from the Mediterranean.
This is the sort of lighting condition that really gets my photographic juices flowing, so I was so glad to be in the right place at the right time to capture this scene in the fleeting few minutes before the cloud covered the setting sun and everything turned to grey.
My wife Liz and I had just finished our evening meal down in a restaurant on the promenade and were wondering where to go next when I noticed the cloud on the horizon.
Fortuately we knew of this viewpoint by the lighthouse, overlooking Port de Soller, having been up here on a previous visit.
So with no time to waste we headed up the winding road to the top of the headland where I took the nine images required to make this panoramic stitch, just before the light failed.
I think, of all the many photos I took in and around Port de Soller, this is my favourite, simply because of the stunning lighting.
One of those fleeting moments that you will probably never see again, except in a photograph.
