Whenever my wife Liz and I go on holiday, there's usually a place that becomes our favourite, that we return to more than once during our stay.
When we visited the Balearic island of Mallorca, in the western Mediterranean, the lovely seaside town of Port de Soller fulfilled that role for us, with three visits during our ten day stay; which wasn't bad considering the hour and a quarter white knuckle drive along the stunning MA10 road to get there from Alcudia Bay where we were staying.
This view out over Port de Soller from the lighthouse viewpoint, with the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains in the background, was our 'go to' sunset location, although this image with fluffy cumulus clouds over the mountains, was taken in mid-afternoon.
The only way I could do justice to this view in a photograph was to produce a stitched panorama, which worked very well thanks to some careful tripod levelling and the wonders of Adobe PhotoShop CC, and just looking again at the scene while I'm typing this makes me wish we were back there again.
