The first view a visitor gets of the lovely Port de Soller on the west coast of Mallorca is as one drives south along the MA-10 road and pulls in at the Mirador des Barques cafe for a break and a cup of coffee.
The cafe has a terrace which looks out over the foothills of the Sierra de Tramuntana down towards Port de Soller as it lies enclosed in its bay.
The day my wife Liz and I stopped for a coffee and to admire the view was particularly photogenic, with the afternoon sun shining on the Mediterranean, turning the waters a dazzling shade of emerald, while overhead fluffy white cumulus clouds bathed the hills below us in an ever changing pattern of sunlight and shadow.
We spent a very relaxing half hour there, just taking in the view and snapping the odd photo from time to time from the comfort of our chairs.
Photography shouldn't be this easy!
