When holidaying by the sea, I always try and take a boat trip around the coast, as you get to see stuff that is just not accessible from the land.
Of course, it helps if the sea is the calm, warm Mediterranean rather than the freezing cold waters around the UK, so Liz and I made the most of the opportunity for nautical sightseeing while on holiday on the island of Mallorca.
We set sail from Puerto Pollensa on the north coast and headed up the the Formentor peninsula, passing the lighthouse at El Maressar on the way.
As you may know, I'm a sucker for photographing lighthouses so of course I had to take a series of exposures as we sailed by.
Compositionally speaking, this was the best view, with the lighthouse and horizon roughly following the time honoured 'rule of thirds'.
A negative exposure compensation made sure I didn't lose any of that lovely colour in the rocks either.
