After a white knuckle drive along one of the craziest roads in the world, the MA-2210 that runs up the Cap de Formentor on the north coast of Mallorca, you eventually reach the end of the road at the Cap Formentor lighthouse.
Whether viewed from the approach drive or seen up close, this is one impressive structure in an even more impressive location.
Perched on sheer limestone cliffs, the lighthouse dominates the scene.
But I chose a more intimate view for this photo, using a convenient wall as a lead in line to the lighthouse itself, and converting the image to monochrome to lend emphasis to the lines and tonalities that form the basis of this composition.
