Early afternoon on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca and the sun's beating down relentlessly on the 300 metre high sea cliffs of the stunning Cap de Formentor.
It's also beating down on me as Liz and I make our breathless way up to one of the most popular viewpoints on the island, not knowing what we're going to find on our first visit here.
What we did find was this amazing view out over a bay called the Cuina del Moro, to the headland of Can Camota and the little island of El Colomer, rising dramatically out of the sea.
My polarising filter made the most of the sea, cutting out the glare and turning the water a deep blue colour, against which the light coloured rocks and vegetation of the promontories contrasted very nicely indeed.
A few wispy cirrus clouds helped alleviate the monotone blue of the sky to make for a very pleasing image all told.
Well worth the sweaty slog up to the viewpoint in the end!
