Standing on the lookout point on Mallorca's wonderful Cap de Formentor I was at a loss as to know where to point my camera next.
It seemed that there was a stunning view in most every direction, but in the end it was this wisp of high altitude cirrus cloud in an otherwise clear blue sky that made up my mind for me.
That, plus the old lookout tower on the top of the mountains (used for spotting pirates in the old days), made for a great composition, juxtaposing the fleeting cloud with the enduring rock.
A polarising filter together with a conversion to monochrome enhanced the contrast between the cloud and sky, making the cirrus stand out more against the dark background.
