OK, I'm a sucker for lighthouses.
In fact, one of the first things I'll do when visiting a new coastal location is pull out a map of the area and look for them.
Fortunately for me, the Mediterranean island of Mallorca has a fair smattering of lighthouses, and I made sure Liz and I visited a few during our ten day stay there.
Some proved to be either very un-photogenic or unreachable, but the Lighthouse Cala Ratjada at Cap de Capedera was well worth photographing, with its attractively angled boundary wall and dramatic perch on the cliff edge.
Being here around midday resulted in the original colour image looking a bit washed out, even with the help of a polarising filter, but a conversion to monochrome with enhanced contrast and a warming filter brought out the lovely tonality present in the scene.
