The Mediterranean island of Mallorca has become synonymous with crowded beaches and nightlife, and while that's true for a few areas of the island, there's plenty of beautiful secluded bays and beaches to enjoy if you're prepared to drive some great hairpin roads.
Buy the most detailed map you can find, set off on an adventure, prepare to get lost a few times, and you can end up in a stunning little cove such as Cala Tuent, pictured here.
Bounded on both sides by tree covered headlands and backed by the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, with crystal clear waters and just a few visitors, this is much more my idea of a holiday destination than a crowded beach or a nightclub.
I photographed here during early afternoon, which brought out the vivid colours of the trees and rocks under the influence of my polarising filter, but being west facing I bet this is a gorgeous location to film a sunset from.
