Cala Molins, on the north coast of the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, is quite a heavily developed holiday resort.
But on this day, the normally crowded beach and sunbathing area were deserted as a stiff onshore breeze drove very large waves into the bay.
But for me, not wanting to sunbathe or get wet, this was a fantastic opportunity, with an emerald green sea, deep blue sky and crashing waves to photograph.
Of special interest was the man made blowhole on the sunbathing area in between the parasols, which you can see in this image.
The crumbling concrete had opened fissures to the sea, and with every pounding wave a funnel of spray erupted from the promenade like a geyser.
Highly entertaining and great for a game of chicken as well as for a photograph!.
