Wandering round Old Alcudia, Mallorca, on a hot sunny day I couldn't help but notice the large amount of white bunting draped across the streets and squares.
Whether this was a permanent feature, or just there temporarily for a festival, I don't know.
What I do know is that the bunting transformed an ordinary street scene, not worth a second photographic glance, into something with much more grace and visual purpose.
As we walked around I took many photographs of different scenes including the bunting, but in the end settled on this simple composition in which the viewer's attention is drawn inexorably along the white lines of bunting to the roofline and building frontage at the bottom of the frame.
To emphasise the graphic nature of the composition I converted the picture to a duotone in Lightroom, removing distracting colour variations and thus focusing attention on the shapes and tones.
