Malaga, Spain, was originally founded by the Phoenicians in the sixth century BC, so it's a city with a rich and varied history.
None of which interested me at all as Liz and I walked from the cruise liner terminal where we were docked for the day into town along this fantastic futuristic walkway.
Someone's been spending some serious money here (but we knew that already, didn't we!), and I was in photography overload with so many geometrical, shadow, highlight and colour combinations to take in.
This particular compostion appealed to me due the perspective of the roof, pillars and floor all disappearing into a vanishing point, but the icing on the cake was the marvellous 'S' curve of the shadow line in the roof, which is a treat for the eye to follow.
In terms of colour, the stark white of the walkway roof set against the deep blue of the sky just leapt out of the viewfinder at me, and the composition as a whole required very little work in PhotoShop to bring out the best this scene had to offer.
The new port complex and its environs may have cost millions of euros, but the area certainly was visually stunning.
