This is a typical view of a street in Malaga, Spain.
A pleasant enough place to wander round for a couple of hours, but in the harsh light of midday it was hard to find photographic compositions that were both meaningful and with a tonal range that could be handled by my Nikon's sensor.
This is one of just a few images I took in town with a composition that appealed to me, but I had to make extensive use of the shadow/highlight tool in PhotoShop to recover the detail in the tree.
In addition, the sky turned out to be a really deep saturated blue which completely overwhelmed the more delicate shades on the buildings and tree, so the blue had to be desaturated and lightened in order to focus attention on the other areas of the image.
