One of the lesser known beauty spots in Ireland, this is Lough Graney in County Clare, towards the west of the country, sandwiched between Limerick and Galway.
My wife Liz and I stopped here for a snack on our way north, and of course I took advantage of the break to take a few photos.
While the single frames I took were OK, I was frustrated at not being able to include the harmonious beauty that I could see as I moved my head from side to side through a 180° field of view.
Time for a panoramic collage then, which I decided to centre on the wooden jetty, extending from my feet out into the lake.
Once Adobe Lightroom had compiled the panorama from the multiple overlapping single frames that I took I saw that, while the horizon was straight, the jetty had assumed a banana like shape due to parallax effects.
I could have straightened this up using the free transform function in Photoshop, but in the end I decided to leave it as it was, as the curved shape fitted in nicely with the overall composition.
After finishing our snacks Liz and I went on our way refreshed, having enjoyed such a lovely view.
