A rare sunny day on the banks of Lough Derg in County Clare, Ireland, and the midges are out in force.

The sunlight is lighting up the banks of reeds at the margins of the lake, causing them to glow golden against the blue water and sky.

A very lovely scene, and well worth braving the midges to photograph.
