Beautiful by day, mysterious by night, the mountains lakes and forests of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales are an ever changing sensory wonderland, and I'm so blessed to live within easy reach of such loveliness.
My wife Liz and I had spent the afternoon driving around and hiking in the snow capped mountains, and we were so entranced by the scenery that we decided to stay on after dark to look at the stars over the moonlit landscape.
Normally photographed during the day by dozens of snappers, this view out over Llyn Mymbyr towards the Snowdon Horseshoe looked stunning on this still night, with the combination of stars, including the constellation orion, together with high cirrus clouds glowing brightly in the moonlight and reflecting in the mirror-like surface of the lake.
