Spring in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, North Wales on a rare sunny day.
I'm so blessed to live within easy distance of this wonderland, so when the forecast is favourable my wife Liz and I can just jump in the car and be there within an hour or so.
Which is what we did one Saturday in late spring 2017, touring aound Snowdonia taking in the fresh air and sunshine while stopping at some of our favourite viewpoints.
This view is well known and well photographed and shows the Gwynant valley with the lovely Llyn Gwynant nestled below the surrounding mountains.
But what made this view extra special was the old, knarled hawthorne tree in the foreground, battered and twisted by the extremes of weather that occur here, yet still bursting with life during its short blossom time.
Surely a metaphor for hope renewed in the midst of adversity - a lesson for us all.
