An absolute gem of a location, this is the beach at Llangranog, on the welsh coast in the county of Ceredigion.
My wife Liz and I visited here during our few day's holiday in the Pembrokeshire National Park, and this is as far north as we ventured during our stay.
Liz remembered this spot from a childhood holiday and wanted to see it again briefly, not intending to stay very long.
But when we arrived we were both stunned by the beauty on display, with dramatic rock formations on the beach and wet sand reflecting the approaching autumn sunset.
So our brief stopover turned into an evening's worth of exploring and photographing, culminating in my shooting of several hundred frames from this spot to make a time lapse video of the sunset colours.
This still image was culled from those hundreds of frames, and shows something of the dramatic colours in the sky and sand, accentuated by the dark rocks and headland bordering the composition.
I kept on photographing until almost all the colours had bled from the sky before retiring to the wonderful warmth of the seafront Pentre Arms Hotel for a much needed meal with Liz before the drive back to our holiday cottage at Solva on the Pembrokeshire coast.
Needless to say we got back very late, but who cares when there's such beauty to explore and enjoy?!
