The lovely town of Llangollen in North Wales is justly famous worldwide as home of the Welsh International Eisteddfod, but outside of major events Llangollen has a quiet 'olde worlde' charm all of its own.
One of the nicest aspects of the town, from my photographic point of view, is the promenade along the banks of the river Dee which is where, one late afternoon in May my wife Liz and I were strolling along admiring the scenery.
At one point of our walk we passed through a grove of trees overhanging the river, and I was struck by the beautiful play of sunlight backlighting the fresh, new leaves so that they really glowed against the dark waters of the river below.
It was the work of but a moment to frame this shot up and capture this fleeting moment in time as we walked on by.
Just a couple of second's effort for such a lovely picture.
