One of the most pleasant walks on the North Wales coast is along the coastal path from Llanfairfechan towards Bangor to the west.
Close by Llanfairfechan the path borders the seashore, giving views out over acres of flat sand at low tide, towards Anglesey and Puffin Island on the horizon to the north.
On this particular day in mid September the weather was especially kind as Liz and I made our way along the path.
White fluffy cumulus clouds were moving sedately across the sky, with patches of light and shadow playing on the golden sands stretched out before us.
After a few minutes' walk, we came across this brick lined water outflow pipe, surrounded by a line of old groynes, which for some strange reason made me think of a tongue sticking out through a row of decaying teeth.
Now I like this kind of dilapidated beach architecture very much, so we stopped for a few minutes to enjoy the view and to allow me to take a few photos of the scene from various angles.
This was my favourite composition, with the line of the water pipe leading the viewer's eye through the frame to Puffin Island in the upper right hand corner.
So after our few minutes repose, Liz and I carried on with our gentle stroll along the coastal path, marvelling at the beauty laid out for us to enjoy.
