The cool tones of twilight play across the sands of Llanfairfechan beach on the North Wales coast as Liz and I stand drinking in the beauty at this most wonderful time of day.
The receding tide has left tidal pools in the undulating contours of the beach, reflecting the blue hued sky above, while out on the western horizon the last vestiges of sunlight stain the atmosphere with firey orange.
Out to sea, Puffin Island stands in silhouette against the glowing sky as the world spins on into night.
The shutter clicks, and this frozen moment in time becomes nothing more than a collection of electrons on a piece of silicon.
Or does it?
