The West Shore at Llandudno on the North Wales coast is a great place to go for an afternoon's stroll in the sun.
With views out over the Conwy estuary and Irish Sea to the headlands of Penmaenmawr and Llanfairfechan, and with a huge tidal range you never see the same scene twice.
On this occasion the tide was in, lapping up against the end of an outflow pipe, vividly marked with a red warning post that drew my attention from quite a distance.
I love including the colour red in a photograph.
Just a little, and set against a complimentary colour such as blue or green, the colour red acts like a pinch of chilli in a bowl of stew, enlivening and adding a piquant touch that brings a dish (and a photograph) to life.
If the post had been a different colour this image wouldn't have anywhere near the impact, or give as much visual pleasure as it does.
