Llanddwyn Island (Ynys Llanddwyn) is one of those uniquely Welsh coastal locations that combines stunning unspoilt beauty with a rich and diverse history. (You can visit the Anglesey History website for a full accounting.)
I love coming here in the late afternoon, to be on the island as the sun sets to the west, lighting up the old stone cross and watchtower with its dying rays and causing the mountains of the Llyn Peninsula to glow red across the waters.
Of course, I'll have my camera with me, but to be honest, photography isn't the main reason for visiting places like this.
It's just a balm to the soul to be in such a location at the close of the day, alone with just your thoughts for company, reflecting on the love and wisdom of the God who enjoys to create such beauty.
