Lilies #2

Arrangement of Stargazer lilies

The story behind this image

The Stargazer lily must surely rank high in the list of both flower arrangers' and photographers' favourite blooms.

With their striking shapes and colours they grab the attention in any setting.

This vase of stargazers certainly grabbed my attention when my wife Liz set it on the sideboard, so they were soon moved to an impromptu studio by the kitchen window, comprising a stoll and a sheet of black card.

Good old Fuji Velvia did a marvellous job of rendering those colours in all their glory.
