The setting sun ushers in a twilight calm over the Menai Straits, separating the Isle of Anglesey from the North Wales coast.
At the far eastern tip of the island, the lighthouse at Penmon Point stands guard over the entrance to the Straits as the incoming tide washes slowly over the foreshore rocks, the sussurant hiss of the wavelets accompanied only by the mournful cry of the gulls overhead.
This is a wonderful place, a place of peace and contemplation, especially at the end of the day as the light levels fall and the darkness of night chases the light away to the west.
Overhead, in the darkening sky, the first of the brighter stars emerge as Liz and I reluctantly pack our things away ready for the hour and a half drive homewards, enrichened by our time here together.
