This photo is very much a straight shot of one of my most favourite places, Penmon Point on the easternmost point of Anglesey, just off the North Wales coast.
Normally when I'm here photographing the scenery I'll go for a wide angled view, encompassing foreground rocks and plenty of sky, but on this evening, with the low angled rays of the setting sun grazing the scene, I decided to try something different.
So I took off for the far end of the shingle beach and picked out the lighthouse with a medium telephoto lens, set against Puffin Island in the background.
This is a very simple composition of a beautiful place shown in nice evening light, and I don't think it needs any more than that.
