The beach at Talacre, North Wales is a huge expanse of sand, but dotted here and there are relics from a bygone era that add interest to the scene.
Such is the case here, where a decayed, eroded and buried stone pavement leads the eye to the equally dilapidated lighthouse in the background.
This photo was taken just after sunrise on one of the rare mornings in North Wales when there's no clouds on the eastern horizon to block the sun.
The low, directional light hitting the pavement side on serves to emphasise the wonderful old textures and forms of the stones.
I can't help wondering what it all looked like a hundred years ago.
