Even in a developed tourist resort you can still find pockets of quiet, and architecture that is a bit more 'local' than holiday apartments.
So during the week long winter break that my wife Liz and I enjoyed on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands in February 2018, we spent a couple of hours meandering around the old harbour at Puerto del Carmen, close to where we were staying.
With a boardwalk going past higgledy piggledy local houses and catcus gardens it was a real pleasure just to mooch around at the end of the day in the peace and quiet, looking at the boats and enjoying the laid back ambiance.
This panoramic image was captured right at the end of the boardwalk, looking back over the moorings and houses to the harbour entrance in the distance, just before sunset.
