No matter where you go in Lanzarote, you can always spot a volcano or two.
At least this is what my wife Liz and I discovered during our week long Canary Island winter break in February 2018.
We managed to tour the whole island in our hire car during that time, taking in the volcanic scenery wherever we went.
This example of volcanic landscape is the view inland from the town of La Santa on the west coast of the island, and is typical of the scenery on offer.
Fortunately for me, being more interested in photography than lying in the sun, the weather was quite active, with cumulus clouds blowing over the peaks most of the time.
Much better than boring clear blue skies and endless sunshine!
This particular image was one of hundreds I took from this spot, in order to make my Lanzarote Clouds Timelapse #1 video, but it stands alone as a good picture in its own right.
