During our week long winter break on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands my wife Liz and I managed to explore pretty much all of this relatively small island.
One of the places we liked so much that we went back to a couple of times was the small seaside town of Arrieta, on the north coast of the island.
Relatively undeveloped, Arrieta seemed to be a place where the locals went for a day out and a spot of surfing on the large Atlantic rollers that surge onto this coastline.
The short seafront is dominated by this large wooden and concrete jetty, unfortunately now in an unsafe condition and barricaded off.
Still, with Atlantic waves rolling in thought the jetty's stanchions and onto the volcanic lava rocks at the shoreline it still made for a dramatic and lovely photographic subject.

Filters - Polarising filter used to reduce glare and enhance colours.

Comments - Image deliberately underexposed slightly to preserve details in the breaking waves and sky.
