The sun had disappeared behind the Snowdon Horeshoe twenty minutes prior to this photo being taken, and what a change had come over the scene during that time.
The ruffled waters of Llyn Mymbyr were still ruffled, but the light levels had dropped so far that what was a half second exposure twenty minutes ago had lengthened to a respectable ten seconds now, allowing the passage of time to smooth the choppy waters, turning the lake into a giant reflector of the blue toned sky overhead.
This cooling of the light had also calmed down the orange toned sky, adding hints of magenta to the shadowed mountains set against the distant sky.
Quite an evening to be out and about with a camera handy.
