This image waas taken during a hike and climb in the mountains of Snowdonia.
What we see in this image is the mountain of Pen Yr Olwen in the background, with Llyn Idwal and its environs in the middle ground and a solitary tree growing out of a spur of rock on the trail up to the aptly named Devil's Kitchen.
It was a hot, sunny, hazy day and I was unsure about the photographic potential. However, the vibrant colours in the scenery before me, and the dark/light interplay of shadow and sunlight between the foreground, middle ground and background soon won me over!
