While staying at Lake Como in the mountains of northern Italy my wife Liz and I decided on a day out to Lake Lugano, the next lake along to the west of Lake Como.
Lake Lugano is somewhat different in that half of it is in Italy and half in Switzerland, and we were determined to see both halves.
Which is how come we ended up at Lugano in Swizterland, which proved to be a visual delight, especially along the waterfront with its impressive fountain and shapely mountains across the water.
Mind you, the ice cream was painfully expensive!
