For the final few days of our holiday in the Italian lakes my wife Liz and I upped sticks and moved from Lake Como a few kilometers east to Lake Garda, for a change of scenery and a fresh region to explore.
As well as exploring around Lake Garda, we headed off into the mountains for a day to check out a couple of smaller lakes mentioned in our guide book.
One such was the beautifully located Lake Idro, surrounded by high mountains.
Relatively undeveloped and very clean, with lakeside walks, nature reserves and a watersports centre, which is where we ended up for a glorious few hours just revelling in the peace and quiet.
Apart from the odd click of a camera shutter that is!
