During our two week stay touring around the lakes of northern Italy my wife Liz and I made a complete circuit of Lake Como in our little Fiat Panda hire car, stopping off at the charming lakeside towns for a looksee and the occasional cappuccino.
With high mountains all around, Lake Como attracted quite a lot of cloudy weather while we were there, which added a certain whimsical ambiance to the olde worlde scenery.
Such were the conditions when we stopped off at the town of Gravedona, with cloud and mist hugging the mountains and the colourful buildings reflecting in the still waters of the lake.
A handy small sailing boat and jetty provided some foreground interest to complete the scene.
